This gym has its limitations. It's not a large facility, and heavy lifters might not be satisfied with all the equipment. Nevertheless, I give it five stars based on what it is -- a relatively low-cost gym at which one can still get a vigorous strength or cardio workout.
Unlike a lot of other budget gyms (Planet Fitness, for example), it has enough free weights for some heavy duty deadlifting and other serious strength exercises. They don't have a squat rack or an Olympic bench press station, but they provide enough heavy dumbbells and other alternatives to make heavy strength building workable. Also, unlike some budget gyms (again, thinking of the nearby Planet Fitness), they don't have any ridiculous rules against deadlifting, performing heavy lifts, and so forth.
One of their best features is their DVD selection, which provides a great way to get a wide range of demanding strength and cardio workouts. Their kickboxing equipment was also great to work with, especially for those who have some martial arts experience. So yes, while I would need to go elsewhere if I want to do some extra-heavy squats or bench pressing, I had some very positive experiences with this place. I would most certainly recommend it.
